1. Worst GUI I've ever seen - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
The UI could definitely use some work. However; I'm more concerned with the bugs than the aesthetics of it. I would like the 'currently selected' target window to properly update when coming within a range of something that creates a new command ...

2. What exactly is the benefit of the Self-Destruct command? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Originally by: Simon Jax Originally by: Petra Grubel How do you leave an empty ship in space anyway? I thought the only way you could switch ships was to do it in a station. I suppose there's an eject command that does not Self-des...

3. Making the money to buy the Learning skills... - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Agent missions are best money as a newb. Especially the first chain of storyline with the reward discussed above Running low level courier missions deep in high-sec space is easy and will often bring you in 30-60k per missions. Sometimes they of...

4. What exactly is the benefit of the Self-Destruct command? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Edited by: Wet Ferret on 26/12/2005 11:47:33 You can abort a self-destruct by docking or by giving another self-destruct order. Edit: I believe that a self-destruct will also be aborted if you eject and board a new ship in space.

5. Build or buy ships? How to decide? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
With no manufacturing skills, it would have taken me right around 10 million to build my own Moa, including blueprint and factory rental. Only 350k of that was for the blueprint, and assuming minimum market price for minerals if I bought them myse...

6. alternative missile defenses? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Originally by: Pagefault Defenders do not work properly since the missile-patch. With the very fast missiles now, defenders won't have enough time to hit unless you are more than 40km away from the target. That means they are only usefull ...

7. Where'd my frigate go? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Did you have two identical ships stacked? In escrow the price you name is for the entire escrow, so if you put them in the same escrow with a 35k price tag, you just sold two ships for 35k.

8. Maybe I'm just an idiot... - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
You've got to be nuts to train learning skills *first* in this game. That's an advanced technique for players who already have working, productive mains to use on their alts for 'powerleveling' into specific roles as fast as possible (in other wor...

10. What happens to old ship? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
You should really keep most, if not all, of your old ships. You can self-destruct the rookie ship because that doesn't matter and you get a new one every time you lose a ship anyway (if you don't already have one in your possession). Some good re...

11. Scanner vs Overview - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
The range is about 14au IIRC. Be warned that doing a full range and 360 degree scan takes VERY LONG, so if nothing shows up for awhile it's probably still scanning. Checking overview settings might help...

12. Difference in Launchers? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Gotta love the kestrel vs merlin argument. I know I do. As for the launchers, you're right you should just buy the cheap ones... but the malkuth advice was also sound. It never hurts to fire a couple seconds faster, so upgrade if you feel you can ...

If you anchor a container, nobody can scoop it up into their cargo hold. I hope that answers both questions.

15. Physcial Manual - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
The golden rule of MMOs: first thing to do when you bring it home is throw away the manual. It'll just be outdated in a couple of months, if it isn't already. Even player guides are arguably worthless after the next patch comes. To tell you the t...

16. Early implants - use or sell? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]

18. Be careful opening random loot cans! - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]

19. Wait... new bloodlines? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Was I hallucinating when I read there were going to be new bloodlines introduced with RMR? I just don't see anything new in the character creation for any of the races. Am I just blind? Or maybe I've finally gone crazy from solo mining in EVE.

20. what does the capacity do on a cap booster? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
The volume is how much space the actual module takes up. So if you aren't using it and store it in your cargo it would take up whatever it's volume in cargo space.
